Carrossa Hotel Spa Villas is Majorca’s newest 5-Star Hotel and a place where you can enjoy a picture-perfect view of Northeast Majorca on the sandy hills of the Levant, not far from the romantic town of Artà and its surrounding coves from Alcúdia to Cala Millor.
This beautiful hotel sits in the middle of a very old olive farm where some of the trees date back many years. As you drive up the long driveway you soon get a sense of this imposing building, and believe me it does not disappoint. I arrived late at night and although my NEO easyJet flight arrived bang on time it takes a good 70 minutes to head up to the north of the island. Trust me it’s worth the drive!
Carrossa reception is beautiful, a fresh open spacious and luxurious way to start your well-earned rest.
The light and airy reception is a stress-free area where you really start to relax, staff are ultra-friendly and multilingual so speaking your language will not be an issue. After a delightful glass of Cava, we were shown to our suite.

When you are staying at a resort such as this, the cuisine on offer is very important to your overall stay. If the rooms are amazing and the food not up to par you will not forget it. So, a synergy between standards in Kitchen and accommodation has to be good. At Carrossa neither discipline fails to deliver. The accommodation is delightful and so are the dishes emanating from the kitchen.
My first experience was breakfast, taken either on the terrace overlooking the mountains or inside the Carrossa restaurant. My choice was outside, yes it was late October but it was 19 degrees and sunny so what’s not to like? The breakfast started with Cava / Prosecco and just got better. Fresh juices, breads, smoked salmon, meats, fruit, you name it they had it. Oh, and there was an offering of eggs how you like it? All washed down with various speciality teas and coffees. After such a delicious breakfast lunch was neither needed or wanted.
The dynamic culinary team at Carrossa is under the stewardship of Ramon Garcia. Ramon ram on spoils guests with an innovative mediterranean cuisine with subtle notes and flavours from the Asian sub-continent, sous chef Irene Lluch brings her experience in various Michelin starred restaurants to the table and creates unique deserts. There is little doubt her talents in the kitchen are outstanding and guests enthuse about her home-made ice cream and sorbets. I can assure you once eaten, her sorbets will never be forgotten, truly delicious.
Service was a little patchy. My first night it was spectacular and the waiting team were right on the money and no stone went unturned in terms of service. But on the second night there were a few training issues, but hey it’s a brand-new hotel and one can reasonably expect a few minor quirks. Overall the experience was very acceptable.
After a beautiful dinner consider a visit to BAR “ORO” The the Main-Bar at Carrossa Resort is short and simple:
Enjoy a modern and expertly prepared cocktail program and critically acclaimed wines in impressive atmospheres. Take in the architectural highlights of the Golden sparkling fully-stocked bars.
SWIM & RELAX
Although the weather was good it was not quite warm enough for me to strip off and sink my body into the heated pool. But I did take a walk around the glorious pool area.
Carefully manicured gardens with vast lounge areas and numerous seating areas give plenty of room to “re-charge your batteries”. This majestic pool area lets one just sit back and relax with an exciting book or a refreshing drink. From the heated panorama-pool with infinity edge you can enjoy a breath-taking view into the bay of Alcúdia.
If it’s not so nice outside there is an indoor pool with its large panorama window. If really getting hot is your thing then Carrossa have an offering from world of saunas with an elegant spa lounge and glorious views into nature. Its the ideal to relax.
You can choose between 3 different types of Saunas: Finnish Sauna, the gentle Bio Sauna or the relaxing Steam Bath; basically, they have a sauna for every taste and necessity.
When relaxing at such a beautiful hotel many of us enjoy a little pampering, as I was so busy touring the island I had no time to visit the spa by I did have a friend visit the day before I arrived. She is well used to spas and her report was extremely favourable indeed. “exceptional value for money” “I’ll be back there as the treatments were amazing” Cathy a property owner in Mallorca has a home relatively near to Carrossa and she was happy to try out the spa for me.
Cathy explained the spa was beautifully laid out and the lady who did her treatments was wonderful. If you heading to Mallorca and want a relaxing break in the Islands newest 5-star hotel, then do check out what Carrossa has to offer, I think you will be suitably impressed.
